How it works

Our main accountability tool is an app that takes screenshots at random intervals. When you install Virtue on your phone or computer it starts capturing screenshots around every 5 minutes. It shrinks and blurs the screenshots to increase privacy (and protect your partner). It keeps these screenshots on your device and then uploads them in a secure encrypted batch about once an hour.

Note: On iOS the screenshots can only be captured inside the Safari browser due to Apple’s limitations. We will have specific instructions on how to block downloading other browsers on iOS.

Any partners you’ve added will periodically receive an email (daily or weekly) reminding them to review your screenshots. If they see anything questionable, they can contact you to discuss it. The idea of our app is to help start conversations and provide a motivation to avoid pornography.
